Brooklyn House with a Mid Century Modern Vibe
My client always wanted a bar cart, but felt with 2 young kids and a dog, a closed bar cabinet might be a better choice. She and her husband found this lovely vintage piece. I'm always amazed at how well the scale of Mid Century Modern vintage pieces work so well with the scale of brownstones and townhouses built at the end of the 1800's to the beginning of the 1900's. We used the existing dining room table, moved the existing rug from the living room into the dining room. My client had 6 dining chairs she didn't like, so we used a set of 4 that were in her family room, recovered the seats and found 2 chairs for each end of the table that blended harmoniously with the existing 4. I really love to reuse great pieces that my clients may already own, whenever possible.
