Brownstone Living Room
This beautiful light filled room was painted a dark brown when purchased.
The rug being used in the dining room was a better size for this room and had a smaller motif in black, ivory, green and pink. The rugs were swtiched.
Because the Victorians revered nature motifs, picking up the green in the rug, made sense. A pleasant discovery was made while doing the prep work, prior to painting the room. The colors of the walls and trim, at the time the house was built, turned out to be, very similar to the new paint colors selected!
The furnishings were selected to bring a modern feel to the room while allowing room for the incorporation of period pieces. This eclectic mix affords a link to the past without the heavy feel of a room furnished completely, in a period style.
