This beautiful light filled room was painted a dark brown when purchased. The current owners are the third, since this lovely home was built as the builder's own residence. It's important for a Brownstone Designer to pay attention to the history of the brownstone.
Since the rug being used in the dining room was a better size for this room and had a smaller motif in black, ivory, green and pink, the rug was brought into the living room.
Because the Victorians revered nature motifs, picking up the green in the rug, made sense. A pleasant discovery was made while doing the prep work, prior to painting the room. The colors of the walls and trim, at the time the house was built, turned out to be, very similar to the new paint colors selected!
The existing artwork, provides a necessary punch of color and reflects the personality of the owners.
